I am still not sure if he really won't show but according to the rhcp website John won't be at the benefit concert that honors Anthony. He's not on the list of artists to perform or attend.

While I have no idea if he's busy, out of country somewhere else I do wonder why he won't participate because once upon a time, Anthony and John were best friends. It makes me wonder what happend or what the reasons are for John to stay out of this. He must have his reasons yet I still hope he shows up. However strong the feeling is for him not to be back with the Chili Peppers (maybe ever), they still were a big part of his life and it would be nice to see them perform together again... maybe for the last time? Who knows...

The concert is held at Club Nokia, Los Angeles on May 8th.

Kiedis will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund and for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction and recovery process. All proceeds will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.
